After we cleaned and locked up the cabin, we headed to Moab. The kids were really happy and really good. I guess plenty of water, snacks and an iPad will have that effect!
We stopped at some places along the way - here we saw some petroglyphs. This was near a little community settled by pioneers who basically have orchids in the valleys of cliffs and mountains. It was pretty cool...all the orchids are still growing and producing today. We got to Moab and headed to check out where we wanted to hike the next day. AKA: Ben read stuff and the kids played on the statues!
That night was in a hotel...and the kids always think we're having a party when we stay in hotels. I guess since we brought pizza and ice cream into the place it was a party!
The next morning we hiked and hiked. Of course Ben wanted to hike more, but three little kids and a pregnant wife means he'll have to come back in a few years. The kids did really well though and we all had a great time. Pretty much I wouldn't recommend going to any of these places after June hit though....we were just on the okay side of warm.
Plenty of arches.
This was a State Park called Dead Horse....it looked pretty awesome.
We ended up heading home in a stop-and-see-things kinda way. Paige would nap inbetween and pretty much slept any time we got in the car. I guess we wore her out lots this trip. We had a great time and will probably try hiking again soon....as soon as it's cooler and the baby is out of me!
