Playing with the Family

We started getting passes from Ben's work for some of our favorite places. We have now been a couple times to Thanksgiving Point and when we go in the evening with Ben it is so much fun! Our kids like going anyway, but Ben is different to go with and we all have a blast.

This last time we made sure to get there early enough to milk a cow. The boys thought it was pretty cool and they were really good at it. While they were milking I was laughing with Ben about how this is such an oddity for kids these days - milking a cow. Basic survival 100 years ago. So funny.

Paige does NOT like the animals - unless they are away from her. She likes going because of the excitement of Ben and the boys, but this is her watching the boys ride the ponies....she's pretty nervous! 

Tyler loves these animals SO MUCH! He told me today that he loves Farm Country way more than the dinosaurs. Of course. He's the animal kid. Tonight at the dinner table he was listing animals from Africa (just because - I don't know how it got started). When he got to kudu and that tapirs live in the rainforest, and several other debates, Ben just laughed. Ty is the kid that remembers so many details about animals simply because he loves them so much.  

Paige was nervous about riding with the horses, but since we were at the very back of the wagon and she had lots of people hugging her, she did alright. About half way through the ride she said, 'Oh, horses nice, me' (horses are nice to me). She didn't want to get any closer to them, but she was letting us know that she was okay now with being in the wagon.  

I have been reading Charlotte's Web to Tyler and when we saw this pig he said it could be Wilbur's friend.  

Here Paige is telling me what pigs say - which is pretty much the cutest pig sound I've ever heard a child say. She's adorable! 

Ben always tries to get her to let the goat lick her. Yeah, she's not happy about that.  

But feeding ducks and geese when you're way above them is much better. Espeically when your cute little hands only hold a few seeds at a time. A small handful for me took Paige 7 minutes to feed. It was worth it! 

Still not happy about petting the giant cow either... 

The boys got most of the animals to come over to them and they got to pet them. I just look at the animals - that's why daddys are more fun! 

Since the whole places was decked out for Halloween, Paige thought she must need to be close to some of the decorations....because they weren't animals.  

We only hit the two sand places in the dinosaur museum. It was so quiet and with only about 3 other families in the whole building it was perfect. Reason number two why it's a blast to go with Ben after work - everyone else is eating and getting ready for bed!

Apparently we have to go again...because Tyler is talking about all the animals he wants to see and pet. This is heaven for this little boy!
