On Tuesday Trent got a great turkey hat at library story time. He loves it and wore it for two days straight until we left for the mountains.
Wednesday afternoon we headed up to Brian Head for Thanksgiving with the Thomas side of the family. We had a blast! Ben's family got everyone together in a huge cabin and prepared so much wonderful food that we all felt spoiled for a few days! The house was beautiful and had so much room for everyone. Thanks, Janet! The food was prepared by all the great women in the family and it was much appreciated. It snowed from the moment we arrived Wednesday evening until very late Thursday or early Friday. Trent was so excited to get to play outside and build his first snowman of the year.
The snow was powder and even with Ben working outside in it for a long time, they couldn't get much of a snowman to stick. Trent was still so happy though!
While they played outside, Tyler and second-cousin Skyler (yes, we laugh about the two names, too!) played together on the couch. They loved chewing on the styrofoam cups they were given, but when Tyler chewed through two in just a few minutes, we had to move him on to other things - like the remote! The days were so much fun - we hardly saw Trent except at meal times. He loved following Ben's cute cousin Maddy around. She was great and even spent a good hour or more just playing a good round of Trent throwing the animals down the stairs and Maddy retrives them! What a doll! The pool table, football, and the Wii were also very enjoyed by all. The nights brought us adventures: first night Trent kept waking up with nightmares, which is very unlike him and Tyler woke up each time with Trent! The next morning we also found a brand new tooth in Tyler's mouth! Second night Tyler threw up all over himself and me, but then we all actually slept for a few straight hours, so we managed!
Trenton enjoying a yummy Thanksgiving meal!
It was a great time to take lots of fmaily pictures and I think we got them all: all the generations in several different groups. It was a lot of fun and a memorable experience. We're so glad we have family who wants to stay close and keep in touch. Thanks to all of you who put this together!
The goal was to leave early Friday morning to get home for Thanksgiving part two! It only took Ben and his brother, Jeremy, a little over an hour to dig both cars out of the snow and then about thirty more minutes to get out of the drive-way and onto the semi-plowed streets! What a lot of fun! Thanks to the cousins and parents who helped push us out in their shorts - sorry about the snow pelting your legs!Thanksgiving part two was celebrated with Jasmyn and Marc, Hal and Ashley, and Jeremy. We are so lucky to have such wonderful siblings! We love you all!
