What is the most pleasant thing to wake up to? Oh, yeah? You think so? WRONG! It's the sound of Tyler screaming non-stop, out-of-control, at the top of his lungs...and not just for a bit until you get in his room, but for FOUR LONG HOURS!! Now, don't you agree that's the best? :)
That was our Sunday morning from 4:30-8:30. Of course I had just put Paige down a half hour before that and was feeling completely rested! ;) Ben got to Ty first and it was the weirdest thing to hear him screaming like that. Now Tyler can yell, but this was unlike anything I'd ever heard from him. Poor kid. He just kept insisting he hurt and while we knew where he was hurting, we couldn't tell why. He wanted to sleep with Trenton, but just kept screaming and while Trent was very sweetly letting Ty in his bed (anything to try and stop the noise!) it wasn't doing anything. Ben ended up taking him upstairs and trying to calm him down. Little Einsteins ran those entire four hours (bless On Demand) and calmed Tyler occasionally, but he still screamed plenty and when he wasn't doing that he cried.
He told us his pain was in his collar bone! Um, okay...not okay! I didn't know if something was pulled or cracked. That's a little scary! Ben thought maybe he was just really tired, but after four hours decided he had better take him in and check things out. After some blood and xrays and poking around the doctor said: maybe he just slept on it wrong!!! Love paying money to hear that! Of course I'm glad we checked because it was just so strange - and loud! We kept Tyler on pain meds for all of Sunday and that helped a little. He still cried plenty and screamed anytime anyone bumped him or he moved too fast. Again Little Einsteins played ALL DAY LONG and thank heavens for that because it got Tyler to hold still and calm down a little. Both good things!
I was planning on going to church, but decided we shouldn't take a crazy man! Ben & Trent wen thte first hour, but Ben could barely stay awake. He was a little grumpy and when I asked him why he said he was so tired! Welcome to my world!!
Tyler has been walking around the last few days holding his head and with his head cocked to one side. Poor kid - he looks gimpy. Today he told me the pain was "all gone, mama" and even though that head is tilted a little still, it starting to look a lot better.
What a crazy way to get me to take one more week of rest at home! :)
